Upper West Tennis has been operating at Riverside Park since 2011. A team of Certified Pros make the learning experience for all ages and levels an enjoyable one while either learning to play the game of tennis, working on your strokes or shots, get a great workout, or learning doubles and singles strategy.
We want to make sure you are learning proper technique with grips, strokes and footwork. Dynamic drills will get you developing these skills and will also give you a great workout and have fun at any age or level. We offer group lessons(3 or 4) people, and semi private or private lessons. We get our students, juniors and adults hitting back and forth, and lots of point play in our programs. Point play consists of singles and doubles points working on court movement, hitting various shots and placement.
Our Pee Wee kids, ages 3-4 are introduced to tennis with the forehand, backhand and volley with some drills, and playing lots of fun games and eye hand coordination drills using Red Ball.
Our juniors, ages 5-15, we do a lot of drills, introduce serve, play lots of fun games, singles or doubles points using the red or orange ball depending on age and level. Our staff is certified in USTA 10 & Under tennis. Our 10 & over juniors continue to develop strokes while playing singles and doubles points, and developing the serve using green or regular ball. We also offer afterschool programs at Red Balloon, Riverside Weekday and Ascension on Upper West Side.
Our adult programs consist of beginner classes, as well as intermediate and advanced. We emphasize a lot of technique as well as playing a lot of points for singles and doubles. We also offer classes for point play, cardio, and singles and doubles classes.
